I started my career at Boston Five Cents Savings Bank and this local community bank was entrenched in the neighborhoods of Boston. This brought out my passion for helping people and the communities and I saw first hand how local banks and nonprofits could work together and help many people in need.
John brings a wealth of banking experience to the role of President and Chief Executive Officer. He started his career at The Boston Five Bank and then founded the Cambridge Mortgage Group Inc., where he was Co-owner and President. John is a former Chair of the MA Mortgage Bankers Association and the American Bankers Association Mortgage Markets Committee. He is a member of several local bankers and mortgage committees including, the Advisory Council of the American Bankers Association Mortgage Markets Committee, and the MA Bankers Residential Committee. John also serves on the board of the nonprofit ESAC which helps Massachusetts residents focus on children and the elderly. John earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Boston College and his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from BC’s Carroll School of Management.

Kimberly joined the TCB team in early 2020 with over thirty years of experience in the finance sector. She has worked for various organizations including North Brookfield Savings Bank, South Shore Bank, and CVS Caremark Corporation. Kimberly holds a bachelor’s degree from Bentley College as well as an MBA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
I have spent my entire career in community banking and throughout that time, I have seen how community banks highly value their customers and employees. Community banks are a very important source in keeping the local neighborhoods vibrant.
Elaine oversees TCB’s Enterprise Risk Management, Credit, Compliance/BSA, Deposit Operations and Audit areas. She brings over 30 years of expertise in all aspects of lending, compliance, quality assurance, and policy implementation. Elaine served as the President of the Brighton Oak Square YMCA and as a member of the West Roxbury Main Streets Board, as well as being active in various community events in the West Roxbury/Roslindale area. She also serves as the Bank’s Community Reinvestment Officer. Elaine earned her bachelor’s degree from Suffolk University and holds a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation .

Peter manages TCB’s Information Technology division. He provides direction for the ongoing development of effective, and secure systems that support the bank. Peter brings over 20 years of technical and operational expertise within the financial services industry and has a passion for innovation. He holds a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Management Information Systems from the University of Massachusetts Boston and has numerous leadership positions within Boston’s Chinatown community associations.

Jessica has over 24 years of progressive experience in the banking industry, having worked for both community banks and large commercial banks. Prior to TCB Jessica oversaw Retail Operations at South Shore Bank where she was responsible for process improvements, procedural implementation, and technological integration. She has also held managerial positions at Blue Hills Bank/Rockland Trust, Webster Bank and Sovereign Bank. As a leader Jessica is passionate about helping team members achieve their career goals through coaching and mentoring! She is currently pursuing her degree in Forensic Accounting.

Gaelle manages Human Resources for TCB, providing leadership and oversight to all of the functions of human resources as they relate to TCB’s employees. Gaelle has more than 19 years of human resources experience within various job sectors, including both large for-profit companies and nonprofit organizations. Gaelle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and a Master of Business Administration, both awarded by Curry College.
Personal relationships are at the core of community banking—the ability to have a meaningful discussion with a decision maker, to get advice for a small matter, or just connect with someone who knows what you’re going through.
Miguel oversees TCB’s commercial and residential lending division. He is an industry veteran with nearly 30 years of expertise in commercial real estate lending and construction and business loans. Miguel has worked for such banks as USTrust, Citizens Bank, and Century Bank, always focusing within the Boston/Cambridge markets. His knowledge of these areas helps his customers make prudent decisions regarding their businesses and investments. Additionally, Miguel has served on many nonprofit organizations boards including Ellis Memorial (South End) and Sociedad Latina (Mission Hill). He has been a mentor for young professionals at Conexion and was a member of LeadBoston. He also has been very involved in youth sports and coaching travel basketball, little league baseball, and travel soccer for the town of Milton. Miguel is a graduate of Eastern Conn State University.

Kate heads the Marketing department for TCB. She manages and directs all functions of marketing and communications, both externally and internally. She is responsible for all marketing outreach to promote The Cooperative Bank to the neighborhoods they serve. Kate has spent over 15 years in marketing roles, and over 10 of those years focused on community banking. She volunteers for many organizations in the Parkway area, as well as sits on the Board of the Parkway Community YMCA. Kate obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Westfield State College and a Master of Marketing Communications from Suffolk University.

Peter joins the TCB family with over 30 years of experience building relationships. Most of his career was spent working in finance and account management in the greater Boston marketplace. He started his career in sales, but then grew to hold various roles negotiating multi-million dollar contracts with the largest banks and insurance companies in the United States, as well as the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ executive agencies. Peter has been married to his wife Judy for 28 years. They have raised three children In Tyngsborough, Massachusetts, who are one of his greatest sources of pride. Peter is a great sports enthusiast. In his spare time, he has coached softball at UMass Lowell and Phillips Academy Andover, as well as coaching his own children in baseball.
Renee is the VP of Community Lending at The Cooperative Bank and focuses on the Greater Boston area and all surrounding communities. Renee has 38 years of experience in lending, having worked for large national banks and smaller community-based banks. She has a focus on affordable housing, first home buyer mortgage products, and first-time home-buying educational programs. She partners and serves on the lending committee for Massachusetts Affordable Housing Alliance also known as MAHA, and she also partners with multiple nonprofit entities. She is a past board member of the Mass Mortgage Bankers Association where she served for six years. She is a current member of the selection committee of the Citizen’s Housing and Planning Association.
Nancy brings over 30 years of banking and financial services experience within Greater Boston primarily in the commercial banking arena. Her career has focused on community small business lending. Nancy entered the commercial banking industry with State Street Bank and Trust in Boston, where she was formally credit trained and gained familiarity with all aspects of commercial lending including construction, asset-based lending, CRE, and C&I loans.
Prior to joining TCB, she worked for a community bank in Metro West Boston where she advanced her skills in SBA Lending. Nancy’s ability to make her clients feel at ease, her ability to think outside the box and her commitment to service have earned her a stellar reputation with her customers. Nancy is an alumnus of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she earned a BS in Finance with a minor in Economics. She also earned an MBA from Northeastern University.
As someone who grew up locally, I can appreciate a Bank that focuses exclusively on the greater Boston area. We emphasize our commitment to these neighborhoods by focusing on building strong, personalized relationships with individuals and local businesses to ensure their success.
John joined the TCB team in 2020. He worked in Commercial Credit at TCB prior to transitioning into a Commercial Lending role. John graduated from The Roxbury Latin School and holds a bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College where he played football and was a member of the ski racing team. He later obtained his Real Estate Finance Certificate from Boston University. John grew up in Newton and enjoys skiing, golfing, and volunteering in his free time.

Tom has 30 years of banking experience in the Boston area that he brings to his role of Branch Manager in the Charlestown Office. Having held every position from teller to manager, Tom has a hands-on approach when working with staff and customers alike. Tom holds a bachelor’s degree in Office Administration with a minor in Accounting from Salem State College, as well as a Certificate in Banking from the New England School of Banking at Williams College. He holds a seat on many local boards and committees, including the Charlestown Historical Society, the Bunker Hill Monument Association, Friends of Ryan “Duce” Morrissey Scholarship Foundation, and the Friends of Memorial Hall Veterans.

Janet has been in banking for nearly 20 years. Since arriving at TCB in 2006, she had been in several roles. Starting as a head teller, she is now the Branch Operations Manager in Jamaica Plain. Janet has also worked in the West Roxbury and Roslindale branches. As the Branch Manager at Jamaica Plain, she can help assist you across a variety of services—from opening and closing accounts, online banking, applying for home loans, and more.

Brunna is the branch manager at the West Roxbury branch. She joined TCB in 2019, and has over 12 years of customer service experience. She was born in Brazil and is fluent in two languages. Jane joins the TCB team with 30 years of experience with Cash Management products and services. Jane holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Boston University, a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College, and the designation of Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) from the Association for Financial Professionals.
